The Evolution Stages of the Anti- Narcotics Department.

In 1967: the early stages of establishing this enforcement services office through out dedicated anti narcotics teams of Criminal Investigation division's personnel.

In 1969:  the anti narcotics teams has uplifted to act its taskforce as a section level by the name of "anti narcotics section" under the Criminal Investigation divisions.

In 1979: since the succession & continuation of drugs cases rising rates in which restricted on the foreign manpower's inflows the matter which decisive obliged to decoupling the anti narcotics section departmentally from the Criminal Investigation divisions under commanding officer degree with lieutenant rank by the name of " anti narcotics section officer.  The section since then was combined a (10) personnel where equipped with (3) vehicles.

In 1984: in compliance with needed of developing and improving the Dubai Police utilities to be adapted with the growth and development of the Emirate of Dubai, the anti narcotics section has been Upgraded to perform its missions and taskforce as a division leaded by a commanding officer with major degree, working under his command nearly (40) personnel (officer, noncommissioned officer) and equipped with (14) wireless operations vehicles.

In 1994: at the development and modernization level of Dubai police performance and its efforts to be appropriated with Dubai's ambition levels. The anti narcotics division has granted a promotion to perform its law enforcement as a (Anti – Narcotics Dept.) which collect in its organizational Structure about (11) jurisdiction sections.

In 2005: On 01/08/2005, and due to Dubai Police concerned to join the  technical Period and its modern constructional, the ANTI- NARCOTICS Department  has granted a building stabilized from the Gen. Dept. of Criminal Investigation with all advance facilities in the field of counter the crimes.

In 2008: in compliance with needed of development and to stake out the distinct efforts of the Department, Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, had released a directive warrant No. A/49 on date 23/12/2008 to establish (the General Department of Anti – Narcotics).
